Our
story

KAY is born in Cairo, where fabric becomes a canvas and clothing becomes art, not decoration, not trend, but a quiet act of identity, resistance, and belonging. Rooted in everyday Egyptian culture and fluent in a global language, KAY exists in duality: local yet international, structured yet rebellious, raw yet intentional. Each piece is designed as wearable art, each drop released with purpose, marking a moment in culture rather than a season in fashion.

Founded by architects Karim Mekhtigian and Khaled Sherif, from different generations and perspectives, KAY emerges from collaboration, balance, and a shared design mindset, with its name drawn from the intersection of their identities.

KAY isn’t about who created it. It’s about who wears it, what they stand for, and the tribe they choose to belong to.

 Not a trend. A tribe.
